About

Carpe diem is a phrase from a Latin poem by Horace which means “seize the day”. Carpe is literally translated as “to pick, pluck, pluck off, cull, crop, gather”. Diem on the other hand simply connotes “day”. Roman poet Ovid used this phrase to mean “to enjoy, seize, use, and live”. For the author, this is about changing our attitude – by simply being critical, being involved and to express one’s thought. This is what this blog is trying to do – just to contribute in the understanding of the social realities by examining issues that affect our lives.

Carpe diem is a call for individual and collective action.

  1. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

All I hear is a bunch of whining about one factor which you might repair for those who werent too busy searching for attention.

    • Sir,
      Thank you for your comment.
But I am not a priest either. I don’t even know how to be one.
Nevertheless, you can perhaps visit a nearby parish or a diocese in your area to inquire.
They are in the better position to explain to you how it works or how it can be done.

I have also dreamed of becoming a priest when I was younger. I even entered a seminary once.
But I gave it up later. You know what? I found out that it is not my vocation. God is calling me to serve him in different ways.
So, I became an activist and now a human rights defender.

I believe serving the people is one way of serving God.
Hope this insight makes sense to you….
      Thank you!
